Rashied Ali and Jaco Pastorious

With the recent passing of the legendary free jazz drummer Rashied Ali this week, I was browsing youtube for clips of this master drummer.

And I came across these audio clips of Rashied Ali playing duets (for the most part) with bassist Jaco Pastorious. Wow, didn't see this coming...I thought this was, not only unexpected, but very inspiring.

Not exactly the most obvious or expected pairing of musicians - but it works. Enjoy !
